PARTNERS FOR A HEALTHY WADENA REGION
Partners 501 (C) ( 3) nonprofit corporation was established
in May of 2000 to assist with the implementation of
the city-wide strategic vision and eight priority
projects. Most recently
the Partners have taken on
the Restoration and Reuse of the former Northern Pacific
Passenger Depot as its primary objective which includes
organizing Heritage and
Cultural Tourism programming
for the area.
MISSION
To increase opportunities for a healthy life for all
who live, work and play in the Wadena area
~By assisting in the continued preservation and betterment
of the Wadena area
~By supplementing the effort of government in this
pursuit
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
~ Purchased a building and helped get the
Youth Cyber
Café off to a good start
~ Raised $200,000 for Downtown Art Deco Streetscape
~ Received $66,800 USDA Rural Development grants &
provided
Small Buiness. Development Assistance '03-'07 and started Design Assistance Program
~ Received $437,000 Minnesota Department of Transportation
grant for the
Wadena Depot Restoration Project
~ Received $79,300 MN State Historical Society Capital
Grants-in-Aid for
Wadena Depot Restoration Project
~ Raised over $100,000 in private dollars for the
Depot Project Fund Drive
~Organized Friends of the Depot supporters
